OOTD 132 'LADY IN DVF'

Hi! It's supposed to feel like 107 degrees today. We are in the middle of a heat wave in NYC. It's ok though, we have plenty of light and pretty dresses to don for days just like this one. Today, I opted for a patterned DVF number. Her patterns are beautiful and don't need 'over-accessorizing'. Let the dress do the work. Here are a few tips:

1. Statement necklaces are NOT for patterns this bold! Save them for your plain shift or sheath dress.

2. The shoes should complement not compete. Suggestions are nude, clear/acrylic, or simple black patent leather peep toe. Dressier options include sexy platform pumps or simple strappy stilettos with minimal straps. Say, 2 or 3- ok, 4 straps maximum!

3. Statement bags are key but should be muted or understated to pull of this look.

4. Short hair cuts are cutest to show off the styling of the back of the dress. Also a neat high bun is very chic right now.

5. If you need spanx, buy them. It'll be our secret.

6. Other undergarments should be just that (under), no visible lines or straps hanging out. If you need some extra coverage, check out those cute bandeau options from VS Pink, they have lots of color options.
