OOTD 166 'FALL DRESS + BOOTS'

Hi! Don't assume everyone can do this correctly. Dresses and boots or sneakers are tough to do. If you're going to do it, balance a neutral dress (not too frilly) with casual soft boots. I've done this today with a dress that is loose and comfy offset by boots with their top turned down. No bandage dress with wedges, no tutu skirts unless they are really fun military boots and you are going for Madonna in the 80's or Cyndi Lauper, same era. Hope you like it. Notice the mixed metals. This trend makes it easy to pick any bag, not just ones where the hardware matches your jewelry. This is the beginning of transitional dressing. Later in the fall, this would be replicated with a belt, scarf, light jacket and potentially tights.

Frugal Friday: Full Face Make-up for Free

Hi! How do you get a full face of make-up done for free? Here's how...do it at Sephora. At any other makeup counter, you have to spend quite a bit. for example, if you have to buy 5 items (priced at $30 each on average) that's $150 + tax. At Sephora, you can get things you actually need. You only have to spend $50.00. That's less than calling in a make-up artist for your next big event. Plus, you can choose from Bliss products (which we love), Michael Kors shimmer or perfume, the new Marc Jacobs collection, Urban Decay, a few bottles of nail polish, or some good quality Sephora brand items. At the end, you leave with what YOU need. Even if it is just the lipstick and lipgloss you are wearing for that night. Not to mention, ask questions and learn about makeup application while you are there. You have 45 min of dedicated time to learn. That's what I do!

OOTD 165 'THE CUTOFF FOR DENIM SHORTS'

Hi! I've been saying summer dressing is almost over. You think I'm joking, I'm serious. The weather is crazy. Yesterday and today is a bit of a heat wave. Like 97 degrees, boiling hot. So before I tuck these denim shorts away (like I told you to), I'm giving them one last hurrah.

Shorts are a great time to advertise cute sneakers! They only look good with skirts, shorts, cropped pants and sometimes skinnies. Otherwise you sacrifice the design.

Here's a pair from Michael Kors first sneaker collection that debuted this year. Unlike my others, these are flat, no wedge. Enjoy!

Square Peplum Top: Zara
Denim Shorts: Express
Sneakers: Michael Kors
Bracelet: Henri Bendel
Watch: Kenneth Cole
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
On Nails: Chanel 'Bel Argus'
Ring: Sapphire & Diamonds in White Gold
Earrings: Diamond Asscher cut studs
Star Necklace: A gift (unknown)

OOTD 164 'VERY SUIT-ABLE'

Hi! I'm not big on mix and match suits but some of my favorite suits are interesting. Perhaps they have a cap sleeved blazer, an asymmetrical skirt or some of my fav looks is the shorts suit. It's supposed to get up to 80 degrees in the city so here go the shorts. Oh! Please keep your pedicured up ladies, only a few days left of summer.

Blazer: Kardashian Kollection (Sears)
Peter Pan collared shirt: Same
Cuffed, Belted Shorts: Express
Sandals: DolceVita
Onyx Bracelet & Earrings: Tiffany & Co.
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Makeup: Marc Jacobs & Chanel
On Lips: Mac 'More to Love' pencil and 'On Hold' lipstick
On Nails: Chanel 'Distraction'
On Toes: Chanel 'Black Satin'

*Fashion Tip: Eyelashes are pricey. Today I am a bit more dolled up than usual. When I wear lashes, they are usually e.l.f. They cost $3.00! Apply with Duo glue in 'black' and seal with liquid liner. I wouldn't pay crazy money for eyelashes. They are eyelashes... Remember mix your items, some high prices and some low. Lashes = low.

Weekly Favorite: Chanel Nail Colour

Hi! One of my favorite things is my Chanel nail polish. It just makes me feel good to walk into Chanel and buy something (regularly)! Some colors are limited edition and absolutely amazing like 'Duwalli', a very brilliant gold. Others are regular classics like 'Peridot'. I'm partial, it's my birthstone liquified.

In any case, I display them in this cute acrylic casing amongst my other polish. It's fun to play with colors and see how they spice up an outfit. It's an inexpensive way to brighten up a LBD or help you look well put together and polished in a suit. I don't gel, I Chanel.

*Fashion Tip: I usually change into running clothes, paint my nails and dry them during a quick run. It's multitasking at its best.

OOTD 163 'FLIRTY PENCIL + LEATHER PEPLUM'

Hi! It's a big day today... I'm filming on a television show. This calls for the big guns. I pinned my hair up in a bun for a more serious professional look and am playing with colors to express my excitement. There is also a clever nod to leather because we are transitioning to Fall. I hope you'll get to see the show. I'm not sure what day it will air but I'll keep you posted on all the details as soon as its over. Here is the look:
Leather Peplum shirt: H&M
Neon Yellow Pencil Skirt: J. Crew
Statement Necklace: Zara
Patent Leather Mary Janes: Manolo Blahnik

Tech Tuesday: Urban Ears

Hi! As you've figured out by now, I like to match my accessories with my outfits. It's not always inexpensive but today's Tech Tuesday is one way to do it. These over the ear headphones come in a variety of colors, when I say variety, I mean variety.

They are so much fun and only $59.95. I have a grey pair since I love cool colors. It's a great time of year to invest because over the ear headphones double as ear muffs in the winter.

You can check out their website (www.urbanears.com) or purchase from your local Apple Store.

I look forward to showing you how I style mine this winter.

OOTD 162 'NAUGHTY GAL, NAUTICAL'

Hi! There are only a few more days of dresses with bare legs left in NYC. Today, I am maximizing that moment. I've been on a serious flats kick too but don't worry, I'll be back in heels soon. Today's look is inspired by the end of resort wear. The blue and white stripes always feel nautical to me. I paired it with a signature logo Louis Vuitton Speedy. I just don't believe that pattern 'goes with everything' as some fashionistas do. This look would be great with an orange nail polish to pop! Anyway, off to this lazy Monday.
Dress & Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelets: Kate Spade & Cartier
Rings: BaubleBar & Yellow Gold w/Sapphire
Earrings: Cartier
Bag: Louis Vuitton Speedy
Shoes: Cole Haan

Frugal Friday: Inexpensive T-shirts

Hi! It's the end of summer and time to start layering. I usually layer with a tee or tank on the bottom but I don't pay much. Here's how: invest in a few Hane's tee's for men in a small size. Ta-da!
From Target, they are $13.99 for 8! They are soft, wash well and make a great layering piece.

*Fashion tip: be sure to wear a nude bra under it!
So I skimp on the tee's, this season I will tell you what I splurge on for fall.
