Tech Tuesday 'Gold iPhone 5S'

Hi! This was really my favorite thing last week but then again, it will probably be one of my favorite things for a while. The iPhone has always been amazing but the fingerprint ID technology is a bit off-the-charts hot. I love this phone and I like to use my pinky to unlock so I feel like Mr. Evil from Austin Powers.

Sleek, clean lines, beautiful. Just what we expect from Apple. I can't even bring myself to put a case on it so it will be rocked naked for a while.

Tech Tuesday 'Duolingo' App

Hi! Ever go to a country where you didn't speak the language? I'm heading to France next week and I haven't been in 10 years. It's time to brush up on my French. I'm using an app called Duolingo.
It's amazing! It uses several types of methods to teach you a language. You type in the language, recognize the spelling, use photos for association, listen to the language and even speak it to practice annunciation. It's on of my favorite apps and it saves lessons so you can use it on the subway now which is great multitasking! Not to mention, it's free.
They also send you daily reminders to keep you practicing. Like I mentioned, I'm practicing French but it has Spanish, Italian and various other languages as well. It's fun.
Since I'm going to need to eat, the basics are important so I can order. Hopefully I will be catching a few Paris Fashion Week shows and then I will need phrases like this:

Duolingo is available in the App Store for free.

Tech Tuesday: iOS 7

Hi! I know, I'm a nerd. I am excited about the new iOS. Of course that means I vetoed a few apps that don't work with my colorful screen. I also switched to a white background for a while. Love the new block callers/messages feature and the sleek design. Download it from iTunes.

Here are my new screens:

What's your favorite feature of the new iOS?

Tech Tuesday: Urban Ears

Hi! As you've figured out by now, I like to match my accessories with my outfits. It's not always inexpensive but today's Tech Tuesday is one way to do it. These over the ear headphones come in a variety of colors, when I say variety, I mean variety.

They are so much fun and only $59.95. I have a grey pair since I love cool colors. It's a great time of year to invest because over the ear headphones double as ear muffs in the winter.

You can check out their website (www.urbanears.com) or purchase from your local Apple Store.

I look forward to showing you how I style mine this winter.

Tech Tuesday: Selling Clothes from your iPhone

Hi! Last Frugal Friday I was telling you about Poshmark. I'd like to share some more about that with you. Did you know that you can sell clothes for free from your phone?

Think about it! Take an old pic of you wearing something you don't like anymore or doesn't fit and throw it online in seconds. What about shipping you ask?

Easy: USPS has an app. The mail person would pick up the box from you. Make a trip to the Post Office, grab a few priority boxes and labels. Then at home when you've made a sale, print the shipping label, alert USPS via the app and leave the box with the doorman on your way out. Ta-da!

If you're really serious about it, throw in something nice. I'm giving away a free 'Shareen' polo shirt with each purchase while supplies last.

See what you like on www.poshmark.com/greenshareen, I add new items every 2 weeks.

Tech Tuesday: iPad Magazine Subscriptions

Hi! The September Issue is out. Ever wonder why that's such a big deal? It's the largest issue for each fashions gazing every year including both Fall & Winter fashion. There is even a film about the making of Vogue's titled, September Issue. I get mine inexpensive and early by subscribing through iTunes. It's less expensive, greener and a lot more interactive with extra videos and tips.

I highly recommend them.

Search for your favorite mag in the iTunes Store and if you subscribe, it's much less than purchasing each issue. There are also samples so you can see if you like it. It's fun on an iPad. (And for you NY'ers, you can read offline, in the subway.)

Tech Tuesday 'Closet Organization'

Hi! I've received some requests for a closet tour. I'm in the process of moving so it'll be a while. Today, while packing & sorting, I did think about sharing this tech tip with you. I organize my entire closet in an app. There are various apps that do it but I use Bento. It's a blank database that you create for anything. In this case: I store every shirt, shoe, dress and swimsuit, etc.

Bento is $4.99 and available in the App Store. It syncs with the iPad app and Mac app if you purchase those.
Here are the kinds of things I know about each item:
Design, Circa (year I bought it), cost, size, color, dry clean, rating (1-5 scale of how much I love it), pictures of it, is it in storage? This helps me organize and prevents me from buying ANOTHER pair of black pants. I have 14 pairs of black pants according to my database. It is work the first time but then it's fun, worth it and saves you time trying on clothes when you already know your size by that designer.

Hope this helps you use your technology to be a bit more organized. It's helpful as the season changes and you look for ways to get the most out of your items before it's too cold! Speaking of which, I'll speak more about transitioning on this Frugal Friday BEFORE you start shopping for fall.

Tech Tuesday: Global Traveling - SkyScanner App

Hi! As a child, I would spin globes with my finger extended to see where it would land. I would then wonder about that place and hope to go there someday. This app helps me do something similar. SkyScanner tells you what the airfare is from your native airport to anywhere on the globe! This could come in handy when you want to figure out the best time to go to Dubai, (God-willing 2014).
When traveling on a budget, which we all are, this helps you figure out what's within reach. It may be cheaper then usual to fly to Greece this year.
Happy travels and hope to see you abroad.

Tech Tuesday: JetBlue App

Hi! It may seem lame but one of my favorite apps is the JetBlue app. It's cute and has tidbits about the cities that you are visiting.
Also great food locations...
They even have fun post cards that you can make. Here's one that I did in L.A.
Not to mention, boarding passes!

Good times in an app. Enjoy. Also I have a frugal Friday tip coming on Friday that's JetBlue related- see you soon.

The JetBlue App is available in the App Store and the Google Marketplace.

Tech Tuesday: Wifi Scale

Hi! Last Sunday I went to boot camp and I was so excited to get home and weigh myself afterwards. Not just because I did a 5 hour workout, but because I actually love my scale. I have a withings electronic wifi scale that syncs with my iPhone and reminds me to weigh myself once per week.

It can save data for up to 5 users and also gives you important info like body fat, BMI, and lean mass. It also makes a great gift for any friend that has recommitted to a healthy lifestyle. In my opinion it's 75% nutrition: 25% exercise, but I'm not a doctor. You can see my little ColdStone hump when summer started below:

The Withings App is free in the Apple App Store and Google Marketplace, the scale is $179.99 available at the Apple Store or withings.com.

Tech Tuesday: Fashionable Weather App (Swackett)

Hi! We all have our routine and fav apps but I am always on the hunt for new ones. This app is one of my favorite weather apps because it tells you what to wear! It literally gives you the hourly breakdown and proposes an outfit. It even has a dog walking recommendation and Heat index info. There is a free version and a paid version. Lots of fun.

I like to consider myself the live version of Swackett for you. I have a bit more variety in my closet than those little avatars.

Swackett is available in the Apple App Store for free.

TECH TUESDAY: NIKE +

Hi! Last week something monumental happened for me - I realized that I had run 100 miles. I am not an avid runner, marathoner or even someone who did track successfully in grade school. That makes this a big deal! I also learned you should replace your sneakers every year. And lastly, I learned running outside is different than running in a treadmill. Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way with a minor hip injury. Now, I run less but will post it on Nike+ when I do because if you 'like' it on Facebook I can hear you cheering me on, literally. So here is to my first 100 miles with Nike +, I couldn't have done it without them and my Lunar Light sneakers which I am retiring this week. Download Nike+ and let's be running buddies, as you know, I'm greenshareen.

And yes, my workout gear is all black, white & green- hence, the green lining on my socks.
